We learnt a thing or two from building Australia's iconic trade t-shirt (and brand). Here are six lessons.

Truth 1 of 6
A brand is a community.
It can bring people together, whether through a common purpose or a common look. It’s about giving people somewhere to belong. To feel united. To know they’re not alone.

Truth 2 of 6
When you truly have your customers’ backs, they become your best advocates.
When you show up for your customers in meaningful ways, they notice. And when they believe in you, they’ll proudly spread the word.

Truth 3 of 6
Everyday items can become powerful brand assets.
Something as simple as a t-shirt can take your brand beyond the branch and into the everyday lives of your customers.

Truth 4 of 6
Brand pride can come from the most unexpected places.
You can’t always predict what people will connect with. But once you really know your customer and understand how they live and work, you can create a level of brand pride you never expected.

Truth 5 of 6
A billboard can come in S, L, XL and XXL. Think differently.
Your brand doesn’t need a big media budget to get noticed. It needs a difference and something that really connects. Something that’s important within their world. Your reach can go further than you think.

Truth 6 of 6
You know you’ve won over your audience when they put your t-shirt on their dog.
When your merch becomes something people genuinely love, they’ll find ways to show it off. Even if that means sharing the love with their four-legged friends.
